First ODI between India and NZ

New Zealand Cricket Match
Inexperienced Indian ODI Team full of youngsters is going to play against New Zealand at Guwahati in the first match of the 5 ODI series. This series is also considered as the litmus-test for Indian ODI team's young guns before the world cup in sub-continent earlier next year. Gautam Gambhir is Captain for this series against New Zealand and all eyes are on Yuvraj singh as he is going through bad form for sometime now.

Big names of Indian Cricket Team like  Sachin Tendulkar, Mahendra Singh Dhoni, Virender Sehwag, Harbhajan Singh and Zaheer Khan have been rested for this series because of India playing lot of Cricket before the world cup. Wriddhiman Saha is going to keep wickets instead of Mahindra Singh Dhoni and many are considering him part of the team for the world cup if he performs well.

New Zealand side needs even more practice in sub-continent conditions as world cup is just few months away and they had humiliating defeat of 0-4 against Bangladesh before they came for the Test Series and 5 ODI matches in India. Because of early sunrise in Guwahati match may start an hour earlier than regular time for the matches during the rest of the series.

Elephant gets dental surgery in Kerala

Kerala Elephants Festival
An elephant named Devidasan undergone a dental surgery for pain due to cavity very large in size in its tusk. Indian doctors used 188gm or resin to fill this cavity after a root canal surgery on elephant, now elephant's five year old suffering is over as surgery was successful.

Devidasan is a 24 year old quite young elephant and was suffering from this cavity 50 cm long and 4 cm deep for last 5 years. Doctors are not sure for how long this cracked is going to remain sealed as not a single operation like this was done before.

If the crack opens again the operation would be necessary again as open crack means dust can enter it and can become the cause of infection that can prove deadly for Devidasan. Owner of the elephant was also happy as now the bull elephant can be used in the Hindu festival ceremonials as well as in marriages as his tusk is filled with resin.

Arundhati Roy, Geelani can be prosecuted

Arundhati Roy
New Delhi: Today PTI (Press Trust of India) reported without giving further details that Arundhati Roy and hardline Kashmiri separatist Syed Ali Shah Geelani can be prosecuted under Indian law. Delhi court ruled to book charges against both and instructed Delhi Police to do so before 6 Jan, 2011.

Sushil Pandit registered a complainant against both Geelani and Roy at Tilak Marg Police Station on 28th of October this year after their speech at a conference 'Azadi - The only way' in Delhi that complainant said was anti-India and felt that sedition charges can be filed against both.

India and Pakistan both claim Kashmir as an integrated part of their country since Partition of India in 1947 and has fought three wars since. Dispute over Kashmir can bring unrest to the sub-continent and South Asia in general as both India and Pakistan are nuclear countries with hostilities towards each other.

Buzz around Big Boss 4

Pamela Anderson
Salman Khan hosted Big Boss 4 televised on Colors Channel has managed to remain in business (and news) at prime time in India despite of many attempts by Information and Broadcasting ministry to classify its content as adult and pushing the program away from prime time (9PM) to late night (11PM) show. I&B Ministry says that the promoters of the colors television are the biggest violators in recent times which accounts for 60% of total violations reported.

After Dolly Bindra's abusive language and much hype and drama she was pushed out of the show but she later said she apologizes for her behavior during the show and wants to come back on board. In the latest stunt for the publicity colors paid heavy sums to Pamela Anderson to be on the show for three days and gained lot of TRP after Bombay high court's stay on the decision of I&B Ministry to push the show to 11PM late night slot.

Show is still on the prime time until 3rd Dec. when Bombay high court will decide the fate whether it will be removed from the prime time or not because of the accusations made that it contents dialogues that are not suitable for all audience and may be considered as Adult show.

Slow start for Guzaarish at Box Office

Movie Poster of Guzaarish
Guzaarish had less than 50% opening at the box office and is not doing really well. As considered as one of the costliest movies ever made in India this expensive dream of Sanjay Leela Bhansali is not doing as expected on the box office. Online reports suggest that movie has some audience in Metros but did badly in rest of the India. Few believe that start is slow but steady and may improve with the time.

Weekend collection for Guzaarish was mere Rs. 15 crore with expected loss of revenue worth Rs. 40 crore during the first week of the release. Movie is doing even bad than Hrithik Roshan's last big hope 'Kites'. Sanjay tried to make a fork between the art and main stream cinema and found audience from neither of them. Online reports suggest that there is nothing for 'aam-janta' in the movie and nothing extraordinary for art movie lovers too.

This week is open for the movie to recover as there were no big releases last week but next week end with few big movies is going to give Guzaarish a tough run. Golmaal 3 did good business and is now near to touching the Rs. 100 crore mark while Action Relayy did poorly at box office during the second week also. And finally about the Guzaarish, India is still not ready for this kind of 'Surrealistic Dark' movies as large number among the audience still comprise of 'aam-janta' who come for the light-hearted entertainment and not to appreciate the art of movie making. Indian directors need to learn these facts fast.

Yeddyurappa not ready to quit

Congress and Communist party of India (Marxist) is not happy with the BJP's (Bhartiya Janta Party) double standards regarding corruption charges on Yeddyurappa and problems in Karnataka. There are likely chances that B.S Yeddyurappa may not resign and continue as the Chief Minister of Karnatka and Congress and CPI (M) criticized this move by BJP.

Since opposition parties in Parliament is demanding a Joint Parliamentary committee (JPC) investigations over 2G Telecom scam involving former Telecom Minister A. Raja, this move by BJP not to ask Yeddyurappa to resign in scams involving land and property issues is regarded as double standards over corruption by both Congress party and CPI (M).
