GSLV launch vehicle crashed

This is the second failure of Geo-synchronous Satellite Launch Vehicle in row after last failure in April. Since 2001 total 7 flights are made of the GSLV and 4 of them have met the similar fate. The GSLV-F06, as it was coded, was to have put in orbit yesterday morning at GSAT-5P with 36 transponders.

Successful launch would have boosted India's telecommunication, telecasting, tele-education, telemedicine and banking services. After 50 seconds of flight vehicle suddenly lost control and was broken into pieces. Debris of Vehicle landed into the bay of Bengal near Sriharikota.

India is also planning to launch her much awaited programme of Lunar landing code named Chandrayan-2. ISRO chairman said that we need to review the GSLV programme again as this same vehicle would be used to launch chandrayan-2 in 2013-14 for which lander will be provided by Russia.
