After Supreme court of India suggested to protect and make tapes (telephonic conversations) public more secrets are going to be revealed soon. Tuesday night Barkha Dutt faced the panel of editors who questioned her about her role in the controversial Radia tapes that were made public first by Open magazine and later by Outlook magazine.
This tapes after going public have caused embarrassment in journalism circles as they have top editors of media houses, such as Barkha Dutt, Vir Sanghvi, Prabhu Chawla and M.K. Venu, having dubious conversations with corporate lobbyist Niira Radia. Few believe that journalists are involved in powerbroking and helping lobbyist to get in touch with the certain sections of government. The editors who are part of the controversy, however, have strongly denied the allegations against them.
Panel for Tuesday's special unedited telecast was comprised of experts from the field of journalism like:
Advisory Editorial Director HT Media Vir Sanghvi
Editor-in-chief The Hindu N Ram
Political Editor Open magazine Hartosh Singh Bal
Consulting partner Perfect Relations Dilip Cherian
Editor Languages India Today Prabhu Chawla
Editorial Director India Today M.J. Akbar
